All Eyes on Vegas! – The Muay Thai commuity prepares for “Schilling vs Marcus 2″

The first time Joe Schilling and Simon Marcus were set to face each other, the Muay Thai community erupted as both fighters engaged in some pretty memorable pre-fight smack talk that eventually saw the stakes beings raised and each fighter’s purse being put on the line in a “winner takes all” mega bout. While the build up to the fight was exciting, the fight itself ended in some controversy and for some, it left many questions unanswered.

This Saturday, May 12, 2012, Lion Fight Promotions, which was recently named by the WBC as “2011 Promoter of the Year”, presents “Schilling vs Marcus 2″. An event that will feature the highly anticipated rematch of what is now a full blown rivalry between two of North America’s biggest stars. While neither fighters purse is on the line this time, what is on the line is most likely of much more value. Whoever’s arm is raised on Saturday night secures themselves a bout with WBC World Light Heavyweight Muay Thai champion, Artem “The Lion” Levin on June 9th in Bangkok.

For Marcus, the fight will serve as an opportunity to assure Schilling and his fans that the first win was a legitimate demonstration that he is the stronger fighter and more deserving of a June 9th run for the WBC world title. For Schilling, the fight will be a chance at redemption and to prove to his detractors that the first loss was a fluke. For both fighters it will be another chance to put on the battle fans were expecting the first time around.

The event will be broadcast live on Lion Fight Promotions main site and on GFL.tv.

As if the pro bouts weren’t incentive enough for you to check out the Lion Fight event either in person or online, Lion Fight Promotions “Schilling vs Marcus 2″ will also feature a stacked amateur undercard featuring such Jason Andrada, Genesis Bravo, Josh Shepard, and Marie Choi. A special amateur attraction will be the bout featuring UFC Middleweight champion Anderson Silva’s nephew, 19-year old undefeated Muay Thai fighter Guilherme Bertholdo.
