So pardon the cheesy Dutch centric header graphic but honestly I had it lying around in my personal library of utterly pointless designs. And given this weekends back to back K-1 style/Dutch Kickboxing events, it was apropos. Needless to say, Peter Aerts will not be fighting this weekend and I’m pretty sure he won’t be kicking any Dutch women wearing traditional garb in the head,…well at least not that I am aware of.
Also, while not all of this weekend’s kickboxing festivities are taking place in Holland, they do feature some of the world’s best kickboxers including many from…you guessed it…Holland. The excitement kicks off tomorrow in Stockholm, Sweden as Glory presents their Glory World Series 16-man Elimination Tournament. Here is a list of the incredible face-melting match-ups that will be on the Glory World series card:

As you can see, K-1 is not looking to be outdone by Glory World Series and it seems we now have two Kickboxing juggernauts going head to head. Also, both promotions have quite a bit of talent under their umbrella, which although exciting, may mean we won’t be able to see some big marquee match ups due to fighters being under contract with one of the two promotions. But let’s avoid the negative and focus on the positive, which is that K-1 Rising will also be streaming online and we also have the link for you guys to check it out, right HERE! for us in the U.S. the stream will begin at 2:00PM EST/11:00 AM PACIFIC
So I’m sure you are probably telling yourself that with so much incredible kickboxing action going on in one weekend there couldn’t possibly be more, right? Well, fortunately for you and all Muay Thai fans worldwide you would be mistaken. Because it couldn’t possibly be a Dutch Kickboxing weekend without an event in the homeland of tall, mean, and ruthless wooden clog wearing kickboxing champions both male and female, right? EXACTLY! Just as K-1 has decided to rise from the ashes and bless us with great kickboxing action, SLAMM! has also decided to come back and bring Muay Thai fans in Holland and abroad a taste of something that has been missing in the Dutch scene. That missing element is Full Thai rules action and the upcoming Slamm VII event taking place in Almere, Holland on Sunday May, 27th will be giving fight fans a heavy dose of Full Thai Rules action, as some of Holland’s best will take on some of Thailand’s best using all 8 limbs! Below is a list of the Thailand vs Holland match ups scheduled to take place at the event:
Slamm VII – May 27th – Almere, Netherlands
Thailand vs Holland – Full Thai Rules 5×3 minute rounds
Ilias el Hajoui vs Pornsane Sitmonchai
Faldir Chabari vs Bovy Sor Udomsorn
Nieky Holzken vs Nonsai Sor Sanyakorn
Mohamed “Mootje” Khamal vs Saiyok Pumphangmuang
In addition to the Thailand vs Holland matchup, Slamm II will feature a stacked fight card featuring up and coming Dutch Talent as part of their Best of Holland section of the card.
Unfortunately, SLAMM informed Muay Thai is Life that the event will not be streamed online. The rights to the footage of the event will probably be sold to Eurosport and will end up on the internet eventually to those of us outside Europe, so just be patient! And it’s not like you aren’t getting your fill of Muay Thai action anyway!
