UPDATE – RESULTS AT END OF POST!
Push Kick Promotions is back! And highlighting their return is the announcement of their upcoming event, Muay Thai World Standoff “Thailand vs The Americas”. The event will feature a few of Thailand’s top fighters, such as Aikpracha “The Hitman” Meenayotin, Lerdsila “Mr. Lightning” Chumpairtour, Neungsiam “The Rock” Samphusri, and Rung Reung Chai facing off with a few of America’s top and rising talents.
Standing across the ring from these Thai champions will be some of America’s top talents from both the east and west coast of the United States. Facing off with Aikpracha Meenayotin will be none other than top ranked San Francisco based fighter, Ky Hollenbeck. Hollenbeck recently scored an impressive first round knockout over Cyrus Washington at the Legends Muay Thai event in San Francisco and will be looking to score what would be yet another huge win over one of Thailand’s toughest and most aggressive fighters. Meenayotin recently defeated French star Fabio Pinca and continues to remain active in the Thailand fight scene. The Thai will once again be a incredibly stiff test for Hollenbeck, who must be, by now, accustomed to people informing him that his choice of upcoming opponent will be, “the most difficult he has ever faced”.
In the other highly anticipated bouts, east coast based fighters Ognjen Topic and Rami Ibrahim will clash with Neungsiam Samphusri and Lerdsila Chumpairtour respectively. Both Topic and Ibrahim are among some of the top east coast fighters in the U.S. and are definitely looking to break away from being solely recognized on the east coast, establishing themselves as forces to be reckoned with at their respective weight class nationwide. However, before their August bouts at “Thailand vs The Americas”, these two east coast standouts will actually clash with each other on June 2nd at CSC 33 in Richmond, Virginia for the first ever professional WKA full Thai rules title.
In the other electric co-main attraction scheduled for the event, Michael Mananquil will be making his return to the ring after a layoff of more than a year and will be jumping back into the fray against another talented Thai fighter in the form of Rung Reung Chai. It will be interesting to see if the time away from the ring will effect Mananquil as he jumps back into action against a tough opponent, foregoing the usual warm up bout fighters routinely take when returning to the ring.
Push Kick Promotions has yet to announce the remainder of the card but if these match ups are any indication as to what they have in store for Muay Thai fans worldwide, than we are sure it will be just as exciting and impressive!
