Weekend Results! Adanza and Yamato score stoppage victories in Japan, Lindsay scores KO win at Bangkok Fight Night 12 in Atlanta

As you should have heard by now, pint-sized American Muay Thai sensation, Romie Adanza scored a 2nd round TKO victory over Tomonori Sato in Japan this past weekend to become the WBC Super Flyweight International title holder. Neither fighter had really edged out the other after Round 1, but in Round 2 Adanza landed a quick elbow that opened a deep cut on Tomonori Sato’s forehead, prompting the referee to stop the fight and have the doctors take a look at the Japanese fighters cut. The doctor felt the cut was much to deep to allow the fight to continue and thus Adanza walked away with the W. Although the fight didn’t allow Adanza to showcase his exciting style to the Japanese fans, it nonetheless was a brilliant victory for the exciting American fighter who continues to rise up the ranks internationally.

Also on the card, Japanese fighter Tetsuya Yamato snapped a two-fight losing streak with a 1st round knockout victory over former Lumpinee Stadium champion Densiam Lookprabaht. Yamato landed a big left hook that floored the Thai, prompting the referee to give him a standing 8 count. Although Lookprabaht was back on his feet, Yamato wasn’t about to let the Thai off the hook. Yamato rushed the Thai and floored him once again, this time for good as the ref waved off the fight.

Here are the results from the rest of the NJKF’s Kick to the Future event:
