The Rewind vol. 2 – Post-Turkey Day Muay Thai News!

So I hope everyone had their fill of holiday delights during the Thanksgiving festivities, because I know I did! I stuffed myself with more holiday fare than Kristy Alley at an all you can eat buffet. So far I calculate total weight gain to be in the realm of 15 pounds of turkey, fried chicken, macaroni & cheese, mashed potatoes and so on. As enjoyable as it was, I am now faced with the horrible realization that I have 15 extra pounds to cut for an upcoming fight in February. So as beautiful as the supposed story of Pilgrims breaking bread with Squanto and the Patuxet tribe is, all I have to say is damn you Thanksgiving for my distended belly and heartburn! But enough about me and eating until hating myself because this past week was full of quality Muay Thai events all over the world. From the UK to Dubai, some of the world’s best nakmuays were kicking, punching, kneeing, and elbowing their way to some big wins during some big fights. First event on the list was the War On The Shore 3 event held at the Dusit Thani hotel in Dubai last week. The event was part of the Thailand vs Challengers series created by Tolis Makris of Elite Boxing Promotions in Thailand. Vladimir Moravcik of Slovakia wins I-1 Grand Slam in Hong Kong

Vladimir Moravcik of Slovakia won the I-1 Grand Slam 4-man tournament by defeating Thiago Teixeira of Brazil by Unanimous Decision in the Semi-finals and Andreas Rogner of Germany by 2nd Round KO in the Final. The 4-man tournament also featured American fighter Cyrus Washington, who lost his semi-final bout versus Andreas Rogner by unanimous decision earlier in the evening. The I-1 Grand Slam 4-man tournament was the main event of a card that featured a very solid group of fighters from around the world including countries such as Thailand, France, and China.
