K-1/Dutch Kickboxing Weekend: Glory World Series, Slamm!, and K-1 Rising…where will you be?!
So pardon the cheesy Dutch centric header graphic but honestly I had it lying around in my personal library of utterly pointless designs. And given this weekends back to back K-1 style/Dutch Kickboxing events, it was apropos. Needless to say, Peter Aerts will not be fighting this weekend and I’m pretty sure he won’t be kicking any Dutch women wearing traditional garb in the head,…well at least not that I am aware of. Also, while not all of this weekend’s kickboxing festivities are taking place in Holland, they do feature some of the world’s best kickboxers including many from…you guessed it…Holland. The excitement kicks off tomorrow in Stockholm, Sweden as Glory presents their Glory World Series 16-man Elimination Tournament. Here is a list of the incredible face-melting match-ups that will be on the Glory World series card: Glory 16-Man Tournament – May 26th – Stockholm, Sweden 70kg tournament fights: Giorgio Petrosyan (Italy) vs Fabio Pinca (France) Max Vorovski (Estonia) vs Sanny Dahlbeck (Sweden) Robin van Roosmalen (Netherlands) vs Dzhabar Askerov (Russia) Ky Hollenback (USA) vs Michael Corley (USA) Yoshihiro Sato (Japan) vs Shemsi Beqiri (Switserland) Dennis Schneidmiller (Germany) vs Qi Chenglong (China) Kem Sitsongpeenong (Thailand) vs Cosmo Alexandre (Brasil) Albert Kraus (Netherlands) vs Mohamed El Mir (Denmark) Super Fights: Nieky Holzken vs Alex Harris (Sweden) Semmy Schilt (Netherlands) vs Errol Zimmerman (Curacao) Luckily for all of you combat hungry fight fans, a live internet stream for the Glory World Series event will be available. And because at MTiL we’re so … Continue reading →

The Muay Thai Premiere league aims to take over the world! And their first event takes place right here in the USA
An unprecedented Muay Thai event starring some the finest talent the world has to offer will be staging its inaugural event right here in the United States this September. The Muay Thai Premiere League (MPL) will feature 40 of the world’s best Muay Thai fighters, both male and female, who will compete in a series of 8 events in order to reach the top prize. According to The MPL’s official press release which can be viewed here, the production will be rewarding the winners with the largest monetary prize in the history of Muay Thai. A whopping 250 Million Baht, which is roughly the equivalent to 8 Million US Dollars. Now, because the field of competitors will be divided amongst 5 different weight divisions, I am sure the final purse will be divided amongst the winner of each weight division, as I doubt they would be awarding each division winner 8 million dollars. However, it is without a doubt the largest fight purse in the history of Muay Thai and further incentive for the fighters involved to put on their absolute best showing. The 8 events that comprise the MPL’s first season will begin with the first event in Los Angeles in September with following events set to take place in Amsterdam, Beijing, Australia, and of course Thailand. The President and CEO of Warrior Caste Productions, the company behind the MPL, is none other than former WMC World Champion and Canadian nakmuay, Clifton Brown. In addition to Brown, the WMC’s … Continue reading →
