Lion Fight Promotions presents “Schilling vs Marcus 2″ – Official Press Release and Fight Card!
The much anticipated rematch between U.S.A.’s Joe “Stich’em Up” Schilling and Canada’s Simon “Bad Boy” Marcus is set to occur on May 12th in Las Vegas. Once again these two heated rivals will step in the ring, put all talk aside, and let their fists, elbows, knees, and kicks do all the talking. However, while their first encounter included a much publicized “winner takes all” bet that would send the defeated fighter home with just $1, this bout will bring the victor an opportunity that may in fact be more important than their opponents purse money. Joe Schilling and Simon Marcus will be fighting for the opportunity to face Light Heavyweight World Champion Artem “The Lion” Levin on the WBC’s “Battle of the Belts” event on June 9th in Bangkok, Thailand in a world title bout. Both Joe Schilling and Simon Marcus have been very vocal about their desire to face Artem Levin and potentially become world champions. While the first bout between Marcus and Schilling ended with Marcus winning a decisive, yet to some a controversial TKO, Marcus agreed to face Schilling again in order to put the matter to rest. Since their bout, the usually outspoken Schilling has remained unusually quiet, by most accounts choosing to focus all of his energy on training for his upcoming rematch with Marcus. Meanwhile, Simon Marcus has kept himself busy recently defeating Kaoklai Kaennorasing in Bangkok to win a WPMF World Title and fighting in China.

Saenchai def. Ross; Rungravee, Lindsay, Yamato, and Kim head home with the W! Results!
Unfortunately in the fight game, when the night comes to an end and the locker rooms and arena clear out, only one of the two fighters that walk into the ring goes home a winner. But winning can mean different things to different people. For Charlie Sheen, it can be being high as a kite 24/7 and surrounded by loose women. For Saenchai Sinbimuaythai, it means walking away with the WBC Diamond Belt. And for Kevin Ross, it means walking away with the idea that he fought the best pound for pound Muay Thai fighter on the planet and looked damn good doing it. Let’s get one thing straight, my job at Muay Thai is Life, and what I aim to do here for my readers, is to provide an objective opinion about Muay Thai events around the U.S. and the world. I look to tell you who won and who lost without letting my personal feelings towards a fighter or gym get in the way. I’m friends with a ton of fighters because of either Muay Thai is Life, training, or because at one time or another I have faced them myself across the ring or have shared a locker room with them before a fight. But I don’t ever want to let that get in the way of telling it like it is or giving my opinion about how a fight went down. I give my opinions as a fighter who has been there (in the ring) and … Continue reading
