Justin Greskiewicz vs Gabriel Varga 2 set for Take On Productions’ “Battle at the Bally’s 2″ on August 11th, 2012

We’re back! Muay Thai is Life was MIA for a bit as we were working on a few things outside of Muay Thai that had not allowed us to dedicate as much time to the site as many of our fans were used to, but now we are back in full force trying to bring you as much Muay Thai content as we can. As had been reported previously by our associates at The Muay Thai Media Network New York’s Take On Productions has joined forces with up and coming Muay Thai juggernaut Yokkao Boxing to bring you the next installment of “Battle at the Bally’s”! Because the state of New York continues its crusade against MMA, the use of “Full Muay Thai Rules” (elbows) in Muay Thai fights held in NY continues to suffer. For this reason, the fastest growing NY-based Muay Thai promotion, Take On Productions, decided to occasionally venture to the neighboring state of New Jersey, where Full Thai Rules are allowed. Take On Production’s first venture into the state of New Jersey proved successful with “Battle at the Bally’s” held at the Bally’s Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. It was the first “Full Muay Thai Rules” card to be held in Atlantic City and provided fight fans with some great full Thai rules matches that included Jay Matias vs Jake Mainini and Justin Greskiewicz vs Eddie Martinez. On August 11th, 2012, Take On Productions heads back to Atlantic City for “Battle at the … Continue reading

Weekend Results – Warriors Cup XIV, Journey Fight Series V, and IFS 10

Three solid Muay Thai events took place this weekend across North America, showcasing some of continents rising Muay Thai talent in both the pro and amateur ranks. Two event would talk place almost simultaneously as the Warriors Cup took place in New Jersey and the Journey Fight Series would take place in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This Warriors Cup unlike the few previous events, was an all amateur affair featuring rising talent from some of the east coast’s top gyms. The Journey Fight Series also had a great lineup featuring many talented amateurs from across Canada as well as a few pro bouts, one of them pitting California’s Daniel Kim against Calgary’s own Sean “Shotgun” McKinnon and the other being a great matchup between “Nasty” Nate Smandych and Luis David Cruz of Mexico. The very talented Jessica Gladstone was scheduled to fight Celeste Saenz of Mexico, but the bout fell through at the last minute when Celeste was not able to enter Canada due to visa issues. Either way the event went off without any further problems and by all accounts was a resounding success for growing Canadian promotion. On Sunday night, the Muay Thai action turned back to the western United States as the IFS put on what would be there 10th show in the Southern California area. The event, titled “Triple Threat” would feature and interesting new concept titled “Pro-1″ rules whereby competitors would engage in one round of boxing, one round of Muay Thai, and one round of … Continue reading

For now, it’s time for some BREAKING NEWS! Muay Thai is Life has just been informed by sources within Take On Productions that the growing New York based Muay Thai promotion is currently looking to put on a full Muay Thai rules event in Atlantic City sometime in mid-October. The venue for the event is yet to be announced, but our Take On source has announced it will be a “massive casino in Atlantic City”. Because the event will be held outside of New York City, Take On will be able to promote the show under full Muay Thai rules, which will be a first for the promotion. The show will be sanctioned by the New Jersey State Athletic Commission(NJSAC) and the WKA. The event will be a mostly pro fight card with a few amateur fights, but as of yet no fights have been announced. The event will once again be held in association with Madison Square Garden and will benefit from the same amount of promotion and publicity as their recent event held at the Beacon Theater in Manhattan.
