Rami Ibrahim defends his WKA title at Take On Productions “September Showdown”
Philadelphia’s Rami “The Arabian Nightmare” Ibrahim defended his WKA 132 lb. North American Pro title for the 4th time tonight at Take On Productions “September Showdown” in New York City. Rami’s opponent was the very tough and very talented Philippe Allaire Landreville out of Canada’s Tristar Gym. In the nights only professional match up both fighters demonstrated beautiful Thai technique and during the first two rounds were involved in what was a very tightly contested war of attrition. For every strike Ibrahim landed, Allaire quickly responded with a strike of his own in order to even things up on the score card. Both fighters went leg kick for leg kick and body kick for body kick during the first two rounds. As the 3rd round came around, Ibrahim’s work rate increased and the talented Philadelphia based fighter began to pull ahead slightly. Ibrahim’s success was his ability to pair his always crisp hands with solid body kicks and knees in the clinch. Towards the end of round 4, Ibrahim cornered his Canadian opponent and opened up with a flurry of punches. During this onslaught of punches, Ibrahim landed a big left hook that floored Landreville and forced the referee to give him a standing 8 count. During Round 5, Landreville, aware that he had to come out strong and make up for the knockdown, kicked up his aggression level and pushed forward. Both fighters really began to throw leather looking to land the big punch or kick that would end … Continue reading

Take On Productions to put on full Muay Thai rules event in Atlantic City sometime in mid-October
Okay, first of all, don’t get confused, the poster to the left is to promote the upcoming Take On event scheduled for September 9th, however more on that later! For now, it’s time for some BREAKING NEWS! Muay Thai is Life has just been informed by sources within Take On Productions that the growing New York based Muay Thai promotion is currently looking to put on a full Muay Thai rules event in Atlantic City sometime in mid-October. The venue for the event is yet to be announced, but our Take On source has announced it will be a “massive casino in Atlantic City”. Because the event will be held outside of New York City, Take On will be able to promote the show under full Muay Thai rules, which will be a first for the promotion. The show will be sanctioned by the New Jersey State Athletic Commission(NJSAC) and the WKA. The event will be a mostly pro fight card with a few amateur fights, but as of yet no fights have been announced. The event will once again be held in association with Madison Square Garden and will benefit from the same amount of promotion and publicity as their recent event held at the Beacon Theater in Manhattan. Also, as we mentioned previously, Take On was rumored to be close to securing a deal with a major company in order to broadcast their events. Take On is still keeping the name of their broadcasting partners close to the … Continue reading
